film in progress
senior film work in progress from Rob Aird on Vimeo.
This is my senior film which, in creating, allowed me to graduate this December. It's currently untitled. I have every intention of cleaning it up, coloring it and overhauling the sound design, but it'll do for now.
edit 5/4/09
The film is very nearly complete, so this won't be viewable here anymore. More info soon.

ummm.. you have a banana on your head
Here's one of my first attempts at a dialog test. I think it turned out rather nicely and I've recently resumed tying it down in flash. I may bring it to color after that is said and done, but I have other things that need taking care of first.
Sounds like the audio levels came in a bit high. I blame blogger, it sounded fine on my end..

this is heavy
This is my latest assignment for my traditional tech 3 class. I think it turned out pretty alright, and when I get some more time I am going to finish doing tie down.
The third dimension
This is my first real attempt at a 3D character. The pose is a little strange and it's probably not the best model in the world, but I'm fairly happy with it. He's based off of the plague doctors from the middle ages, though I modernized the design a little. The mask they wear looks frightening, and if they show up at your door it's never a good sign. They went around Europe confirming that plague victims were as good as dead and then they would go about their day. The masks were originally bronze and the snout was used to hold herbs that would supposedly prevent the doctors from contracting the plague, though for my purposes the mask is less for function and more for symbolism.

big and small
My senior film is about the little guy on the left. He's sent out into the real world and from there everything is down hill. He's going to be beat up, stepped on, he'll lose a friend, have his heart broken, his dreams crushed... it's safe to say that things just don't go well.
Here's a pencil test I did for my traditional tech 3 class. It's part of a sequence involving this guy getting his foot crushed by a tiny man who has a giant hammer. Right now he's just standing around minding his own business.
All for what? I'm not too sure, but it will be fun to animate.
